Ashley M., Veterinary Assistant
As our veterinary assistant since March of 2022, Ashley has assisted with patient restraint, client communication, medication dispensing, inventory restocking, clinic upkeep, and more. With a Grooming Certification from Paragon School of Pet Grooming, she is talented at helping our patients feel comfortable during appointments.
“I grew up in the area, so I enjoy helping the people and pets of Ypsilanti and serving my community.”
Ashley has two domestic shorthair cats named Nova and Zelda, six-years-old and seven-months-old. She also has a six-year-old American Bulldog named Max and a two-year-old Bully mix named Iris. In her free time, Ashley loves working with Max on new tricks and obedience, reading, roller skating, and walking nature trails with both her dogs.
Sydney R., Veterinary Assistant
Sydney brings with her the knowledge from her degree and the experience she’s gained from other practices as she assists with patient restraint, medication administration, client communication, clinic maintenance, and more. She has a bachelor's in Animal Science from MSU and, as of 2023, is applying to vet school. In school, she was a member of the Pre-Veterinary Medical Association and the Animal Welfare Club and Judging Team at Michigan State.
“I love that [Ypsilanti Animal Clinic] is a small, family-owned practice with close relationships with clients and staff.”
When she’s not working, you can find Sydney reading, baking, playing volleyball, and kayaking.
Laura W., Receptionist
As a receptionist with us since May of 2021, Laura’s favorite part of the job is seeing clients and their pets as she helps the best she can with anything they need. She keeps the front of our clinic running smoothly as she ensures the reception area and lobby are clean, answers phones, schedules appointments, and checks in clients, and is also an excellent communicator as she navigates stressful situations with grace.
Laura holds a degree from Eastern Michigan University and has six years of prior experience working at pet boarding facilities and dog daycare.
“I enjoy working alongside all my co-workers and managers. I enjoy that it’s a smaller clinic where I know most all our clients and their pets.”
Laura has two Pit mixes, seven-year-old Enzo and five-year-old Lyla. She also has a two-year-old mixed-breed dog named Arlo. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, archery, reading, writing, and recently learning how to make and can salsa with her grandma.
